New voicemail box setup for NEC phone systems equipped with Intramail and InMail
It is important to complete all three of these steps when you are setting up a voicemail box for a new employee, a new department group, … and it’s especially important to complete all three steps when a new employee is replacing an old employee at an extension.
If you try to set up a mailbox, and it is already PIN protected, and you do not know the PIN, you will not be able to perform these steps. Please contact your phone system administrator and ask them to reset the PIN on the mailbox.
Step 1 – Set your PIN – this protects your mailbox from eavesdroppers
- Log on to your mailbox
- Dial 6 7 for mailbox options
- Dial 7 for security code
- The phone system will guide you through replacing your 4-digit security code
Step 2 – Record your name. Callers may hear your recorded name before leaving you a message.
Note – If the screen is not displaying your correct name, contact your phone system administrator. If your company uses dial-by-name, it will not work correctly unless your extension displays your name correctly.
- Log on to your mailbox
- Dial 7 6 to record your name
- The phone system will guide you through recording your name
Step 3 – Record your away message (in this case, Greeting 1)
- Log onto your mailbox
- Dial 4 to access the greeting menus
- Dial 1 to make greeting 1 active
- Dial 7 to record your greeting
- The phone system will guide you through recording your greeting
